Ryan Dohner and Marion Kandie Capture Great Halloween Race 10K Titles Mike Aiken and Julia Kohnen Claim Half Marathon Prizes
St. Louis, (MO) – October 11, 2015.
On a beautiful morning amidst thousands of people in costume, Ryan Dohner of Hoka One One Northern Arizona Elite in Flagstaff, Arizona, won the 7th Annual Great GO! St. Louis Halloween 10K race with a time of 30:20. Finishing second was St. Louisian Matt O’Connor recording a time of 30:51 followed by Patrick Cheptoek who finished in 31:13.
One the women’s side, Marion Kandie from Bowling Green, KY ran to a first place finish with a 35:39. Margo Richardson took second with a time of 36:54 and past 10K winner, Jackie Pirtle-Hall ran a 37:05 race.
In the half marathon, Mike Aitken three-peated the event by crossing the finish line with a first place win of 1:12. Placing second was Larry Huffman and third place went to Matt Dirnbeck. Making her racing debut in the Half Marathon is Julia Kohnen, an NCAA All-American at Southern Indiana State University, won the title with a 1:20. Andrea Karl, the 2015 GO! St. Louis Marathon winner, placed second, and Kelly Fox came in third.
Thousands of people participated in this festive and fun race, which included a half marathon, 10K, 5K and a 1 Mile Fun Run. In addition to prize money for the top finishers, age group winners received pumpkin pies. The event concluded with a Halloween Costume Contest.
