Inaugural IAAF World Relays To Air on Universal Sports Network This Weekend

LOS ANGELES  – As 55 U.S. athletes prepare to face the World’s bestUniversal Sports Network will present exclusive television and online coverage of the inaugural IAAF World Relays in Nassau, Bahamas,May 24 and 25 at 6:30 p.m. ET on TV, and at 6:15 p.m. ET LIVE online at universalsports.com

The IAAF World Relays is the latest addition to IAAF events, and will feature the world’s best track athletes from nearly 50 nations competing in the 4x100m, 4x200m, 4x400m, 4x800m and 4x1500m relay races.

Team USA’s roster is comprised of 55 athletes and especially deep in both the men’s and women’s 4x400m pools. In the men’s pool are 2013 world champions Tony McQuay (Suncoast, FL), LaShawn Merritt (Portsmouth, VA) and David Verburg (Lynchburg, VA) as well as Olympic gold medalist jumper Christian Taylor (Fayetteville, GA), NCAA champion Torrin Lawrence (Jacksonville, FL) and Clayton Parros(Bloomfield, NJ).

On the women’s side, Olympic gold medalists Sanya Richards-Ross (Austin, TX), Natasha Hastings (Brooklyn, NY) and Dee Dee Trotter(Cedar Grove, GA) are on the 4x400m relay team pool along with two-time world medalists Joanna Atkins (Stone Mountain, GA), Jessica Beard (Euclid, OH) and Monica Hargrove (New Haven, CT).

Universal Sports Network is home to several world-class track and field competitions each year including the 2014 IAAF Diamond League.Universal Sports is now available on Time Warner Cable, Cox Communications, Verizon FiOS, satellite providers DIRECTV and DISH, and numerous regional cable and IPTV operators in markets across the country.
