2014 IAAF World Half Marathon features $245,000 in prize money and 35 62:00 flat guys including all 5 Americans: Kiptoo, Boit, Pennel, Llano, Cabada

The 2014 IAAF/AL-Bank World Half Marathon championships take place on Saturday in Copenhagen.
$245,000 will be on the line as the prize money is as follows (Team scoring counts top 3 from each country).
Individual 1st – 30,000 2nd -15,000 3rd – 10,000 4th – 7000 5th – 5000 6th – 3000 |
Teams 1st – 15,000 2nd -12,000 3rd – 9000 4th – 7500 5th – 6000 6th – 3000 |
The race features 14 men who have run under 61:00 for their careers including seven sub 60:00 performers. There are 35 men in the field who have run 62:00 or better for their careers including all five Americans who are seeded 25, 27, 28, 30 and 35 based on PRs. The American men all ran well at the 2014 US Half Marathon Championships in Houston as 9 Americans went 62:00 or faster in Houston whereas just 3 did that all of 2013.
