David Oliver to Celebrate With His Mother Who Missed the 1980 Olympics Because of Boycott
Afterwards, Oliver said he was going to celebrate with his mother Brenda Chambers who made the 1980 Olympic 400m hurdle team but didn’t get to compete because of the US Boycott of the Moscow Games.

Oliver’s mother came to Moscow to watch him win, so Oliver’s world title had a little extra meaning.

Ryan Wilson Joins the “Club”
The American hurdling ranks are incredibly strong. Ryan Wilson until today might not have been totally accepted into the club of the best Americans hurdlers.
