LetsRun.com is known as being a leader in the anti-doping movement. That being said, a minority of visitors have criticized us of late for our vitriol for Lance Armstrong. Well we are pleased to state that we’ve found a major media figure who seemingly hates Lance just as much as we do.
Today on LetsRun’s favorite ESPN show, Pardon the Interruption, co-host Michael Wilbon excoriated Lance Armstrong.
Approximately nine minutes into the show (click here to listen), Wilbon teed off on Lance. Co-host Tony Kornheiser tried to hold Wilbon in check but had little luck. Wilbon said the following:
“It’s not that he just lied because that’s forgivable actually. It’s that he was aggressive like a rhinoceros – charging people and trying to make miserable the lives of people who said, ‘You are a liar.’
“Lance Armstrong – let’s make this clear, ok, in plain language – he’s a pig, because not only did he lie – that’s not the worse thing he did- he attacked people – he sued people who said, ‘No, you did this,’ and now he wants forgiveness so he can sell books and get back to competition? He’s a bully.
The zeal to get him (by the media) is over here and it is separate (from his charity work) and it’s about Lance Armstrong the competitor looked at people in the face for years and said, ‘Really, you accuse me of this? I’ll hit you in the face.’
He lied. Why am I going to believe him on Oprah? He’s lied to us personally with phone calls. Please.”
