RE: Immigration: would you let in anyone if they're educated, fit, and are fluent in English?
For immigration we should let in a certain number of asylees, (people fleeing violence, hardship, etc.) per year. We don't have the economic resources to save the world. We can't take everyone in who wants to come here. It is a simple economic fact. It may sound cold, but it is the truth. All other immigrants allowed in should be based on what they can contribute. Education, job skills, etc. People that will be a benefit to the country, who can work and contribute and not come here and need immediate social services, welfare, school funding, tax payer funded health care, etc. We have enough Americans that are poor, unskilled, infirm, etc. that eat up hundreds of millions of tax dollars. We don't need to keep adding more when we can't even take care of our own people.
