I had a lot of achilles issues

Massage will definitely help. In addition

1) check your shoe toe to heal ratio. I always put heal lifts in running shoes on easier days.
2) Ice after running. I had a deep pan that I would put water and some ice cubes in that worked great

Most important, gradually increase workload and I mean gradual. I bumped my runs 2 minutes per week when I started back.
