OK I misheard the details a bit, I thought they said her husband worked in the embassy. I'm not suggesting she's in Yasmin Can territory but still, Israel isn't in Europe and only a teeny bit of Turkey is in it.
Israel is culturally European, Turkey on the other hand isn't.
If Israel had to compete against Muslim countries, their athletes would get slaughtered time after time, because we all know how peaceful the Islamic religion is.
