Course was real soft too from rain in the days leading up to the race. Hence the slower times. It became a strength 10k and patience was key to have anything left for the last 2-3k on that day.
When flotrack did their series on the Colorado program they had footage from that meet. Course looks super soft and you can tell from looking at the Wisco guys in the 2nd half of the race that they are absolutely cooked. Solinsky barely gets across the finish line.
Going out too fast definitely hurt them, but you can also see from the splits that Spiker and Nelson ran poorly from the start, leaving the team no margin for error.
