Which is why 90% of females fall over at the finish line at NCAA Nationals XC every year. It's definitely because they are so tough.
Wasn't there a physiological reason for this released recently? Something about women's blood pressure not as quick to bounce back as men's? Has nothing to do with mental toughness and everything to do with simple physiology.
It has everything to do with mental toughness. You fall over at the end of a race like a totally limp noodle because you've completely given up all effort, not because your blood pressure dropped a hundred points magically when you crossed the line.
