She barely finished 10k at big tens...it really didn’t looks like she was gonna finish those last 2 laps. She was kinda swerving and her eyes were closed and then she collapsed at the finish.
Thanks for the details. Looking at the splits her 2nd to last lap was maybe 2 to 5 seconds slower than normal and the last one was about 10 seconds slower than one would expect for the last lap with some kick compared to other runners. I wonder if the first 2800 meters where she had some close competition took too much out of her given her training after her early season injury.
How was the temperature and humidity there? Were they a factors? I see that a few 10000 meter runners DNF'ed including two from MSU. Was the temperature too hot for those of us who suffered through Michigan's cold temperatures all winter and up through much of April? It was very cold and wet back here again today in Michigan.
I was a little surprised to see that Erin even competed given whatever injury she suffered early in the season that took her out of competitions.
