RE: training at colorado springs olympic training center
I got to live and train at the Olympic Training Center as part of a US Team. It was short term and covered by USATF. It was one of the best experiences of my life. The dorms are very basic, cafeteria is mind blowing good, and the sports medicine people (massage, blood testing, education) was fantastic. You're surrounded by some of the best athletes in the world, and I felt inspired and motivated every day being around them. As for training- the dorms set back a ways from the entrance of the campus. It took a good while to run to the Pikes Peak Greenway Trail. I remember doing workouts at Memorial Park to the South. I didn't have a car- otherwise I would have driven for more options.
