Winning a major marathon is never 'pedestrian'.
Rupp has run a smart race and his gear shift was impressive.
If he can replicate the same in the future against a stronger field he will be universally appreciated even with a 'slow' time.
All the attention, new threads and love/hate on his race show that he was successful.
