What an odd choice or words, no one wins a silver, one person wins the race.
Place second for a silver, runner up for silver, just short of the gold with a silver medal, a respectable silver place finish.....
And on Hill, lets see what he does outdoors in Europe, its a different world, a cruel and very fast world.
You win a bronze, silver, or gold medal.
You lose a race to get a bronze or silver, but you win the medal.[/quote]
My god, everybody wins mentality of the new age.
Win is to place first. Ask a silver medalist if he really won, they say no I finished second, not oh, I won second. You win a gold , you finish 2nd or 3rd and are awarded the appropriate medals for not winning! You are all winners is BS, trivializes a champions win.
Imagine your theory of winning, running around the track for a victory lap after finishing 3rd telling all I won, I won, when everybody is looking up at the big screen playback of the race seeing you finish sadly in 3rd as the real winner comments to the press glancing across the track at your victory lap "he's really a nice guy, must have been the heat"
