RE: Running in the morning on an empty stomach
When training for marathons in my late 40s, I never ate anything in the morning before long runs of 16-22 miles. I'd just have a cup of coffee, prepared French style with a couple of tablespoons of heated milk. Nothing solid. I was fine. It trained my body for fat burning.
