I was initially diagnosed with a stress reactions on the pubic bone and femur due to an extremely tight right adductor (strained). I rested well but after 6 weeks (when I had no pain), I started jogging and had pain to the right side of my pubic bone and tenderness around my scrotum! This would ease off after about a week of no running or cross training. The only thing I could do was swim front crawl without pain. I gave it another month of adductor stretching and strengthening and started jogging again, within one day of jogging I was sore again.
14 weeks down the line I was diagnosed with an inguinal right hernia. It is not your stereotypical hernia as it doesn't hurt when I cough. The surgeon I saw is one of the top guys in the UK and looks after all the pro soccer players- Dr Maclellend. I know thats no help to guys in the US but I thought I'd help out any british guys with sore bollocks!
