That is not true. Look it up yourself using the U.S. tax code. An individual, with no other exemptions other than self and earning $25,000 a year, pays $3,329 dollars in federal tax.

There might also be a state income tax, depending on which state you live in, but it would only be a few hundred dollars.

We don't like taxes but no need to lie about it. They are using the flat 35 percent rate, which only applies to the highest income portion and then it still doesn't figure out to be 35 percent because you are taxed by increments, so much for the first, then so much for the second tier etc etc.

As an acct, I hear this BS all the time, the gov takes 35 percent of your income. Wrong on all counts, even for Romney.
