Subject: Should the USA move talent development to the club system?

If you look at our biggest success stories of native born talent you see that Galen Rupp and Alan Webb both ran their best times when they were under the coach that developed them initially. One could argue that the school system of 2-4 peaks a year from is not sustainable and talent development requires an athlete to follow a well suited programme for up to a decade or more to reach their pinnacle. Could America viably move away from the school system and develop talent like soccer does?
