Yea this. Qatar for the World Cup? Seriously? Where it's 115 degrees in the middle of the day? With the IAAF, I was astonished by all the freebies wanted by the IAAF dignitaries by the hosting site at the world championships. No decent-sized city will ever pull in the World Champs because they won't pay for the bills. I live in Indianapolis, and the city took a couple million dollar loss for Super Bowl. That caused a small uproar. No city or state would fork out the cash for such a guaranteed losing money bet like the track and field world championships. I know this is another topic, but the only chance the US has of hosting an IAAF World Champs in Nike dropping the cash to update the Oregon football stadium and throw a track around the field, or alter the stadium so a temporary track can be thrown in the middle.
