You are reporting the following post to the moderators for review and possible removal from the forum Poster: jakethefake Subject: RE: Critique my Paleo Diet Body: The paleo diet has some good elements, especially because it cuts out all processed sugary foods. However, there is no scientific basis for the paleo diet. (1) it assumes evolution opperates on extremely long time scales, which we know to be false (2) Back when we were cavemen we lived shorter lives, we did not have worry about things like heart disease, it was much more likely you would die of starvation and other things that would kill you much earlier in life (3) While there is evidence that a paleo diet (and other low carb diets) cause you to lose weight, there is also evidence that it leads to health problems later in life. A paleo diet is reasonable as long as you don't go crazy with it. Every fruit or vegetable should be allowed, and less processed carb foods such as whole weat pasta and bread should also be allowed (at least in moderation). You need fiber in your diet.
