Subject: US Olympic Trials Mens Middle and Long Distances
Body:

Reviewing some season bests on T&F's lists, I noticed some things I'd forgotten.

1. Robby Andrews has run 3:34 already this season, and just ran 2-3 weeks since then. He could possibly make both the 800m and 1500m teams, but I'd really like to see him, Centrowitz, and Torrence on the mens 1500m Olympic team.

2. Nick Symmonds ran a 3:36.04 1500m earlier this year as well. Since then, he's run 1:44, and although I know he's more an 800m runner, it would be interesting to see what he could potentially do if he tried to specialize in more of the 1500m/mile distance.

3. I put Wheating, Andrews, Jock, Robinson, and Symmonds as the top competitors in the mens 800m. I give it to Symmonds, Andrews, Jock.

4. Galen Rupp still has a faster 1500m than Lagat so far this season.

5. I think Lopez Lomong should run the 5000m. Behind Lagat and Rupp, he can definitely out kick any competitor off a 4:20-25/1600m pace. This tends to sound more like it agrees with the brojos original hypothesis, but watching Lomong run his 13:11 in not the prettiest fashion showed how strong he was and that was a good month ago. He just need to worry about Derrick, Tegenkamp, maybe some recently college kids.

6. I wonder what Lomong could run for 3000m.

7. Ryan Hall should start racing on the track again. Just a little bit, for a change of pace and venue.

8. Alan Webb holding a kegger after the trials?

9. Rupp should eventually end up with the U.S. mens 5000m record. Could be first non-African under 12:50 someday.

10. Rupp should jump into a fast outdoor 3000m this summer before his 10k. I sometimes forget he ran 7:33 indoors. That's serious business. That time may worth more like 7:30 at this point. 3:34 and 12:58 on top of that could end up making for a fast 10l. 26:35?
