To me it seemed kind of like a marketing/branding opportunity, to become a more runner's world/mainstream persona like Kara/Shalane. Absolutely nothing wrong with that, just a shame that it may have contributed to this situation. All of that being said, I am a HUGE Lauren Fleshman fan...that quote of the day today is a perfect example why. I will root for her no matter how this summer unfolds.
