Okay, having someone proofread your writing does not mean you are bad at writing. And in my experience . . . well, it depends on what you are comparing them too. Most lawyers are not particularly gifted writers on an absolute scale, but compared to the public at large, or other professionals, they are excellent. Sort of like the mathematical skills of engineers.
