Subject: how to triple

For whatever reason my coach thinks i need to triple in the 800, 4x8, 1600 or 3200. I've done this before for him but ended up running 10 seconds off my PR in the 800. The 4x8 and 800 are the only events I really can place well in, but he insists i run in the 1600 or 3200. If its not possible to get out of this what are some good ways to get a full recovery for my open 800?
