You are reporting the following post to the moderators for review and possible removal from the forum Poster: eddie grant Subject: RE: 12 K pace/How hard is bay to breakers/predictions Body: It's easy to get a bit carried away the first three miles or so of B2B, as it's flat and there's a pretty big adrenaline rush when you hear the roar of all the insane masses behind you as the race gets underway. Then there's a substantial hill around 3 miles that can issue alot of pain to those that might have been overcome by the frenzy. The remainder of the race is rolling - though an overall decline over the last 3-4 miles to the finish. My recommendation would be to go out a little conservative until you crest the major hill around 3 miles, then settle into a good 10-esque rhythm for the remainder of the race.
