I don't think Acosta actually ran the steeple. I watched the live feed and don't remember him on the starting line or being lapped (obviously those would have been the only times a 10:00 steeple chaser would have been on camera). If anyone else watched it and can refute this, then I would probably listen to that person, as I wasn't paying too close attention, but the steeple may just be a misprint in the results.

AJ looked ok in the 1500, but not great. He never went with the leaders, instead opting to run with the chase pack, coming through the quarter in about 60 and 800 in either 1:59 high or 2:00. He made a strong move toward the front 3 in the third lap and almost regained contact with about 450 to go, but that was when the leaders started to surge themselves. Once that happened, AJ was in no man's land the rest of the race. I guess it depends on where he is in training right now and what he was trying to get out of his day. It was a solid negative split and he didn't completely fall apart, but it wasn't a great kick and he never really tried to run with the leaders or go for the win.
