Body: They are not running in the american high school system, thus they would be training under much tougher coaches who push them harder much earlier. Virtually every known american 10k runner ended up running it at a faster pace than he did the 3200 in high school. Tegenkamp ran 8:57 in high school... the one 10k that he ran in his career was 8:47 pace. Bobby Curtis ran 8:48.39 in high school, his 10k PR is 8:46 pace.
