Subject: RE: Albert Pujols just crossed the Medoza line. Jeter batting .400
Body:

I've seen a handful of his at bats this season and that is exactly it. Its kind of weird because he looks healthy. He still seems to have that razor like focus at the plate. But he is swinging at bad pitches and also simply missing hittable balls. He did this the beginning of the season last year just not quite as bad. But I recall he was hitting .250 or worst through the early part of the summer and going after a lot of pitches outside the strike zone. Then he stopped doing it and finished just barely under .300 with about 30 HRs. But it appears he reverted.

I think he is simply starting to feel some age and doesn't quite have the bat speed. In his prime two years ago I noticed he actually swung a lot out of the strike zone. But they were hits. I remember seeing him hit a near shoulder height fast ball and he slapped it for a single like it was no problem.

I imagine he will finally listen to his body and not the $240 million and start playing within himself here pretty soon.

I've read in fangraphs that people are saying in the past 2 years, Pujols' pitch selection has become less selective. He's swinging at more stuff basically.
