You are reporting the following post to the moderators for review and possible removal from the forum Poster: Old SMTC SOB Subject: RE: Santa Monica Track Club Eyes Olympic Gold, Backing to Keep Running Body: Yes in the late 70's, early to mid 80's when I was running for SMTC, LA was THE place. Even up into the 90's early 2000's, SMTC was still a powerhouse. Sad state of affairs these days it seems. I believe the club lost its Nike sponsorship which is why the dire financial straights, Also, back in the day the club had a foundation, administered by Ed Stotsenberg (also executor of the Mary Pickford estate).
