I assume 'Xfitguy' is being intentionally humorous ('scientific article', 'superior for before-after pics', 'most comments agree'), but I will comment anyway. The main argument the article makes against running is that most people will probably get bored of it and stop, and therefore gain back the weight they lost. The article concludes on this basis that running is not an effective way to lose weight. Of course, the fact still remains that running burns way more calories than lifting does, and that the 'getting bored and quitting' argument could apply just as well to lifting as to running.
