Took your advice, somewhat, eye doktor.
I wound up going to the ER at a large local hospital Friday evening as the irritation got worse. Beat the college drunk kid rush and got in pretty quick. They had an eye doctor in who was able to treat me.
Turns out I had a large piece of metal stuck on the outer cornea of my eye. The doctor at least said it was in a spot that should not have any real effects on my eye. After poking my eyes with something, dilating, dye tests, and numbing he used a needle to flick off the metal from my eye. At the end of it he said it left about a 0.5mm x 0.5 mm divet in my eye from the process.
I was prescribed two medications, an eye drop and ointment to use multiple times per day for the next 5 days. I also have to go back to the eye clinic at the hospital today for a follow up consult.
My only concern now is that my left eye's vision does not match my right. The doctor that night said I had 20/10 in my right eye with it still being affected by my left eye flickering, but my left eye was then at 20/40. Vision has improved but I still see a significant difference between the two. Hoping to find out it's still in the healing process or these meds are glazing over my eye which is causing some of the blurriness still.
Oh, and I didn't get to run this weekend.
WTF dude? You were grinding metal without eye protection? Seriously, what is wrong with people?
I am trying to find a nicer way to ask this, but WTF were you thinking?Hit the submit button below if you want us to review the post.
