Anyone who traces the decline of Detroit to Democratic mayors and leaves out the most dominant industry, which effectively controlled public policy, has an agenda and little history on his side. Back in the day, the generalization was that football players were buzzcut love it or leave it yahoos and runners were sort of anti-authoritarian free spirits.
