been running for 2.5 years, got a big breakthrough last year when I went from 4:43 to 4:12 my senior year. Taking a gap year this year, been training a lot but the same way as I did last year--strength oriented training, not much speedwork until now.
Last year I started making big jumps forward in May when I started doing a lot more mile pace and faster quality workouts. Expect to see the same improvements this May. Already have run 3:55 which is about equal to my 1600m PR, but about a month and a half early.
