I know Ryan Hall probably has more money if he does Boston or NYC but if he really is 2:06 or faster now then why doesn't he run anymore fast races. I think if he ran London or Rotterdam or something like that he would be exposed. Its easy to run NYC or Boston where the field is good but not great like London. I would like to see him run another major where top 5 isn't a lock and he really has to work for it. He'll never dispel all the critics unless he runs in top flight races. I'm not saying he hasn't performed well in NYC and Boston but we've seen that. What can he do in a fast race in 2012? Wejo may be correct about the chances of the record being broken. I'll leave it to Rupp cause Hall just seems fine with just running the race that is most financially comfortable instead of running a truly fast race.

Under what circumstances would you take less money for more challenging work? Imagine you're Ray Flynn and you're advising Ryan Hall on his future marathon plans. You could go to a place like New York, which will pay a handsome sum for Hall to show up, where he'll face a balanced field and it will immensely please Asics, or you could have him go to a place like Dubai where it will be doubtlessly fast from the gun, but if he runs a lifetime best he might come away with $10,000 for tenth place.

I don't think it's a hard question.
