No, Salazar said that it's possible that in a year or two Rupp could get down to the 26:20's. They didn't say anything about a WR.

He did say that Rupp got offers to do Chicago or NYC, but he should spend more time on the track because he is improving so much and still has a lot more he can accomplish on the track, and I agree. He said Rupp is chasing 12:40 and 26:2X.

Rupp is in no hurry to move to the marathon. The dude just ran 8:09 indoors for 2 miles, and 26:48 in a stacked field for 10000m. He can do what he wants in the shorter distances. Hell, even for 2016 he'll only be 30 so he could do the 10000m there, and wait to do the marathon at the Olympics until 2020.

For Rupp, I say he should chase his 5000m and 10000m goal times as long as he thinks he is capable of doing it, and not move up to the marathon until after 2016. He should also make it gradual, he would easily smash the US 15K WR and I think he could be the first non-African under 59 minutes in the half marathon before he does the marathon.

As for Hall, good luck. Probably not going to win but I don't think a top 3 finish is beyond him.
