Subject: Elite mile for men and women in Colorado
Body:

Hi, My name is Jeff Boele. I know this is short notice, but I am looking to see if any men or women would be interested in running in two fast 1 mile races on Friday May 4th. I am an assistant high school coach at Lyons High School in Colorado (just north of Boulder). We co-host a large high school meet that offers elite invitational sections in some events. We have a 100, 200, 400 and pole vault in addition to the mile. We have a former Olympic gold medalist coming in the pole vault - Nick Hysong and a World Championship participant running some of the sprints- Jeremy Dodson. The 400 will feature several sub 46 second runners as well. We have a few Boulder/Denver area athletes signed up for the miles, but want to extend the invitation to any potential men and women out there who would be game for a fast race.

We have a prize structure set as well. The winner is guaranteed $200, with the potential for a $550 dollar bonus if a "Colorado soil" mile record is run. This is the case for both men and women. For the bonus, the men are chasing 4:04.86 a time that dates back to 1976. The women need to run under 4:40.

Other information that might be helpful:

- The meet is at Longmont high school. This is a great facility with a fast track. There are plenty of places to warm up and cool down without traffic.

- Longmont is located about 15 mile Northeast of Boulder, 35 miles North of Denver and 30 miles South of Ft. Collins. Access to these other cities is very easy.

- The races are scheduled for 7:30 and 7:37 PM on Friday May 4th.

- We can not offer any assistance for travel, but may be able to arrange home stays if people were willing to make the trip from out of the area.

If you have additional questions, please email me at Jeffboele@gmail.com or respond to this post.

Thanks!

Jeff
