Subject: RE: Curtis Beach 46.96
in the 45's?
He has great endurance witnessed by his 1:47 and 3:59 capabilities. But his sprint speed in the shorter distances doesn't show he has much room to improve in the 400.
He is a strong decathlete and am excited to see his unique skill set continue to improve. Even running 46.90 is going to top most decathletes, but to compare someone like Ashton with Beach to show the difference, Ashton just ran 45.68 and runs typical 100 times between 10.3 and 10.5 with a personal best of 10.19wa and 10.30 without. Right now Beach has hit 10.8. If he can get a 100 time down to a 10.5 or faster he could definitely break 46, and if he can do those in a decathlon, he will be keeping company with Trey Hardee, Ashton Eaton, and Bryan Clay.
