Subject: RE: Which US athletes could qualify for the OT in 4 events?
Body:

Some differing criteria floating around here...strange how that always happens.

Are we talking qualifying for the Olympic Trials? The final at the Olympic Trials? The Olympics? Having an Olympic A standard? The Trials A standard?

A few guys stand out who in the past few years have had, or been close to having the Olympic A standard in 3 events...it's debatable whether they could had 4...I think it's safe to say that anyone with an Olympic A standard has a shot at making the Olympic team in that event, with the exception of the 400 maybe.

Rupp has it in 5k/10k, could presumably do it in the marathon, and might be able to do it in the 1500.

Solinsky and Teg have had it in 1500/5k/10k and could probably hold on for the marathon A qualifier. Probably. Doubt they'd qualify, though.

Ritz has 5k/10k/marathon, but probably couldn't run an A in the 1500. Not sure, though.

Lagat has it in 1500 and 5k and could almost for sure do 10k. It's likely he could do marathon or 800.

Fam a few years ago had 1500, Steeple, 5k or 10k.

Dan Lincoln many years ago might have been able to do the same.

Max King can do whatever the hell he wants, because he's Max King.

Of course, he couldn't do it now, but the best American answer to this was Alan Webb in '04-'07 form.

He had A qualifiers in the 800, 1500, 5k and 10k. I would think Webb could have run the marathon in '06, but who knows.
