Sorry Flagpole but I got to go with Duhhh on this one. Regularly posting investing advice on a running message board officially makes you a nerd. If it makes you feel better, we are all nerds. Playing blues and rock doesn't exempt you. Saying you never took "illegal drugs" only makes you more of a nerd. Not the actual act of not taking "illegal drugs". Just simply saying you never take "illegal drugs". All it suggests is that you are a nerd who reads and minds the law and doesn't pay attention to the fact that prescription Vicodin is much more dangerous to you than pot.

Nah. I reject this. In my industry, it would actually be good for me in some ways if I were a nerd, but alas, I am not. I'm athletic beyond just running. I mow the front yard with my shirt off. I'm not smart enough to be a nerd. I don't use Vicodin either. I don't care about the minutia associated with computers. I could only stomach the first three Harry Potter books before I quit reading the series. I don't like Dr. Who. I've seen all the Star Wars movies, but I couldn't tell you who Boba Fett is, and I don't even know if I spelled that right.

Feeling good or bad about being or not being a nerd has nothing to do with it. I'm either a nerd or I'm not. I look at facts. Facts say I'm not. I don't even have that nerdy shell exterior that nerds have. Nerds rule the world, so it would be beneficial to me if I were a nerd, but I'm not. Before you say "methinks you doth protest too much", I'll respond by saying that just because a person says he isn't something doesn't mean he is. I'll say right now that I'm also not 7 feet tall and that I don't like okra. Guess what, I'm really not 7 feet tall, and I really don't like okra.
