She put on a good show in the one mile she ran indoors at New Balance, only a week before USA XC. After all that distance training, she was beaten only by Haley Pierce and ran 4:51 off a slow start. Said that she hadn't done any speed but could've maintained that pace much longer and regretted not going out hard from the gun.

I can see her running 4:40, but crushing it in the 2 mile and 5000.


After a slow start? What? She took the race out hard alone, was ahead by a good 50m at one point early on, then she slowed and the front group caught her. She was strong enough to hang on for 2nd once the kicking started.
