There is a difference between thinking something should not be done and thinking that something should be illegal. Think of marijuana. Would I advise my kids to use it? No. Do I have any interest in it whatsoever? No. Do I think that it is a good idea for use of marijuana to be illegal? No, I think that it is a really, REALLY bad idea, for all the same reasons that making booze illegal was a really, REALLY bad idea. There is also a difference between something being legal and something being common. Do you really think that if there was no law against public masturbation then suddenly everyone would be doing it? Personally, I have my doubts. My guess is that with or without the law only someone who is mentally disturbed will engage in this activity. Finally, regarding: "If you have strong arguements for public masturbation, please state them." I think that this question is putting things backward. Shouldn't we require very strong arguments against something before thinking about making it illegal rather than the other way around? Hit the submit button below if you want us to review the post.
