Just guesses but:
If you were injured, I'm guessing that you lost a lot of your power. You probably weren't doing squats or sprinting, but you may have been cross training and probably could have walked. You may have kept your endurance but lost power. In that case, just doing hill sprints will be the quickest way to improve your 800.
You could be a slow twitcher. It happens.
Or you could just be having a hard time moving past your mile pace. Maybe you are quite comfortable at around 1:13 quarter pace, but feel distressed going much faster than that. If this is the case, I would guess that just busting out like another poster said would probably get you to where you need to be. You could always run 200s at 800 pace on your own to work on relaxation.
