You are reporting the following post to the moderators for review and possible removal from the forum Poster: VF Runner Subject: Marathon training thread -Week ending 2/19 Body: Goal: Sub 5 next Sunday 2:4x Pocono Marathon Looks like I may get to start the thread this week. Got some more of the quality I was looking for this week and am feeling very optimistic. Mon - 6 (7:21 easy) Tues - 7.5 (Valentines day tempo to get home quicker! 7:32,6:36,5:59,6:02,5:58. Pushing hard, but still controlled.) Wed - 6am 4pm (7:16,7:21 easy) Thurs - 12 (Mixed workout. 2 w/u 12x200 200 rec. 33,35,34,35's....,34,33. 5 mi. tempo @ 6:20 4x200 34,34,34,33) Fri - 5am 3pm (7:34,7:50 easy tired) Sat - 7.5 (7:08's moderate, but very comfortable. Legs still a bit tight.) Sun - 18+ (7:10? Felt great. Mostly downhill first 2 miles got me into a quick rhythm and I just held it. Had a measured pace check mile at 13 and ran 6:36. Probably sped up a bit that mile, but it was very slight. Run might have been as long as 18.5 and 7:00 pace.) Total 69+ It took a few days to recover from Thursday's workout, but I felt great today. I do have to figure out whether to take an off day this week or not. I'm at about 55 days straight and marathon specific training will start next Mon. and I probably won't plan on taking any off days. I don't feel like I need an off day, but I don't want to be forced to take one when I don't want to. Hope everyone else had good weeks to post about.
