You are reporting the following post to the moderators for review and possible removal from the forum Poster: sf Subject: RE: Track season over b/c of a stress fracture, now what? Body: A NordicTrac ski machine works wonders - no impact and a great workout. A high school runner in our state lost a month of running a few years back early in the xc season after a fall resulted in a bone bruise and he worked out on the ski machine every day. He came back from it and ended up making Foot Locker nationals. You can get an old but still completely usable machine on Craigs List for a hundred bucks or less. A stress fracture is a more serious injury than what he had, but hopefully you could do it pain free. If it hurts, don't do it. Pool running is the other option if you have access to a deep pool - but very boring. Good luck. It is still early and the season goes into late May or even June in a lot of places. Another question to ask is why did you get a stress fracture at this time of year? Were you racing indoor track? That sort of injury as a high school sophomore is worrisome - you are overdoing it somehow. You should be in a building phase and looking at your senior year and college for the big miles and big workouts. Hit the submit button below if you want us to review the post.
