Subject: RE: 41 yr old runs 4:38 mile with "no running" training program

Interesting and most likely some validity for older runners who have extensive high mileage training earlier in life, and a high degree of natural talent.

I was hoping for an off the couch story of a non-runner throwing down a 4:38 mile-- either a story of an incredible natural talent who for whatever the reason, never found out he/she could run like the wind.

I mean taking former collegiate runners who have previously done high mileage and making them do--

1) 60 tempo

2) Strides

3) 2 hour long run

Would do the same thing.
