Subject: RE: Am I ready for 13.1 miles?
Body:

If you keep losing weight, you'll be able to do it. I started running in Oct 08, I was 220 pounds (already down from 286), and I decided in Jan 09 to run a half in May 09.

I was doing 10k three times a week, with a 4th run of a distance greater than 10k, peaking at 10 miles. I also did two spinning classes per week to boost cardio, burn fat, and to not pounds my bones to dust.

I ran 1:36 off of that (but I was around 185 pounds by then). Sure it's not a world beating time, but it was top 5% in the event that day.
