lucKY2b & Rtype...thanks for the input re: max heart rate. Apologies for not responding sooner but life interferes at times. I used to do a time trial test with my athletes similar to what has been suggested. We did 3200 m to gauge vVO2max, but wore HR monitors and took at reading at the end. Thought this was reasonably accurate and used those numbers for subsequent training. I guess if I want to find my own HRmax I should do the same. Not sure I'm ready though, lol. Thanks again for the input.
