If you are truly fast and a contender you will be allowed in the meet. If you are a pretender wishing to be good - Chaplin will weed you out.


I know several other people have commented on your post as well, but it is really sad that someone thinks this way and doesn't understand that most of the people at the top were at one point working their way up. The national championships are just as much about helping up and coming athletes to develop and gain experience as it is to choose the national team. I am sure many young athletes have been turned off by the sport and given up because they were denied the right to compete at the national championships for no reason. If you are in the top 32 in the country and there are lanes open, why would there be an logical reason not to let them compete.
