I know this thread has helped me. Maybe not so much from following the specifics that are discussed (especially the diet stuff - I still tend to eat whatever I feel like) but with motivation. And it's not just the motivation to keep running hard - it's the motivation to do some of the extras, to focus on the small stuff.

It may be 20 years late, but thanks in part to all of you I might just figure this running thing out yet. The next test is this Saturday in my local 5k. I don't feel like I've even vaguely trained properly for a 5k, but I'm expecting a good run anyway.
