I guess I didn't think about it that way because in the natural environment around us (not talking about altitude), when oxygen levels measure low that means something displaced that oxygen and that something could be hazardous to humans. So with these tents, the pump takes in, say 1 liter of air and strips out, say, 25% of the oxygen which was about 5% of the air volume, then pumps the remaining 0.95 liters of "air" into the tent so you now have like 85% nitrogen and 15% air instead of the usual 80/20 mix? (ignoring the other minor constituents). What do the machines do with the oxygen? Is it just vented to the air out of the machine (increasing the oxygen concentration right outside the tent...).
